Wooden floors have an elegant and sophisticated charm. They can make a dull room look fabulous. Most people think that wood floors don’t last long, but this is just a myth, and it is a one-time investment. You can decorate wood floors with many designs and coat or stain them with colors of your choice.
As well as sourcing beautiful cuts of oak from the Ardennes in Northern France we occasionally find bullets lodged in the wood from various decades/centuries ago.
All our wood is checked before going through the manufacturing process as metal items lodged in the wood can cause considerable damage to the cutting blades.
The first bullet I shall comment upon was found in August 2020. We believe it was from an Enfield gun dating back to the Napoleonic War (1803 – 1815).
Add Fire Protection to our wooden doors
“Provide extra peace of mind by upgrading our Ledge and Brace Doors to offer 30 or 60 minutes fire protection by applying specialist fire retardant (intumescent paint) coatings to both sides of the door. This coating expands in heat to create a char barrier. You will see from the picture the different the coating can make. A price for coating the doors is available upon request.
Skirting Boards, You all have them!
You All Have skirting whether you look at them or not the majority of people will have skirting boards around their home or go to a place with it.
Skirting Boards have been used for years! The original purpose of them was to conceal the discontinuity of the floor up to the walls, but that is less common now with more people opting for carpets, but you still have them? They also serve many purposes in that they also protect the lower part of the wall from all kind of knocks and bumps which is common for that area of the walls.
